Webcam Shows Construction & Traffic

Road and streetscape construction underway this summer in Kings Beach, and its impacts on vehicle traffic along Highway 28 (North Lake Boulevard), are now visible online and on mobile devices via a recently installed live streaming webcam, managed by Destination Media Solutions.

The webcam is located on the King Building, above the Kings Cafe’ at the intersection of Highway 28 and Bear St. in North Lake Tahoe and shows a view of the intersection, and traffic, pedestrian and bicycle traffic looking west. The intersection will be the site of the second new roundabout along the commercial corridor, scheduled for installation this fall. The first roundabout, at Coon St., to the east, was completed in June.

The webcam’s live feed can be viewed online at Tahoetopia.com, a popular Lake Tahoe visitor and lifestyle website with numerous other Tahoe webcams, and  KingsBeachCore.info, the project website created by the Placer Country Department of Public Works to provide information about the ongoing construction progress. The live video stream can also be viewed on ROKU devices via the free Tahoe TV Roku app.

Still images from the webcam, updated every few minutes, can also be viewed on the Lake Tahoe App (www.freelaketahoeapp.com) and on Tahoe TV and the Lake Tahoe Visitor Channel on local cable television and in hotel rooms around the region.

The Kings Beach construction webcam was installed by Destination Media Solutions (operators of Tahoetopia.com and Tahoe TV/Lake Tahoe Visitor Channel) working with Placer County Department of Public Works and Q&D Construction.

We absolutely love watching the sun rising over the lake and catching the trains passing through Truckee. Almost like being there. Best site on the net!

I'm very pleased! We're excited to see people come in the gallery that mention seeing the video in their hotel.
